Almos everybody knows the game PAC-MAN. It is one of the most popular titles in gaming industry ever. It was originaly released in 1980 as an arcade gaming machine from the Namco company. The Atari company released the game in 1982 for the Atari 2600 platform.

The game graphics are very weak compared to the original gaming machine version, as is quite usual with Atari 2600 games, however this doesn't lower the playability and fun with the game. The number of sold copies also speaks for the uniqueness of this game. With the number of 7 milion sold cartridges, PAC-MAN became the most sold game title for Atari 2600.

You controll a yellow dot - PAC-MAN - eating dots in the maze. The goal of the game is to collect all the dots, which allows you to proceed to another level with a new maze. To keep things more difficult, there are 4 guardians trying to catch you and stop you from collecting the dots. If they manage to catch you, you lose 1 of your 3 lifes. There is also a possibility for you to get into the attacking mode by collecting one of four large dots in the corners of the maze. You gain the ability to eat the guardians for a few seconds.
A total of 12 million cartridges of the game have been made for Atari 2600. 7 million of them have been sold.
